Sobremesa

Teacher guide

Reach every family with one forward.

You already write a weekly newsletter. Forward it once to your class forward code and Sobremesa turns it into a parent-friendly lesson for every family — plus suggested guides for the homework.

01

Create a class

In Settings, switch your role to Teacher and create a class mesa. Pick immersion (taught in Spanish) or mainstream (taught in English, families get Spanish). That one choice sets the language families see.

02

Forward your newsletter — once

Every class gets its own class forward code (an email address). Forward your normal weekly newsletter there one time. No translating, no retyping, no new app to learn.

03

Families get everything, automatically

A parent-friendly lesson lands on every family's dashboard, and suggested math, reading & science guides appear on their help pages under “From your teacher.” Nothing is generated until a parent taps one.

Three codes, three jobs

Two of these are email addresses, so they’re easy to mix up. Here’s which is which.

Class forward code

· You forward your newsletter here

Posts a lesson to every family in that class and seeds their math, reading & science guides. This is the main one — one address per class.

Family invite code

· You hand this to families

A short code families enter once to join your class and start seeing what you post.

Your direct lesson email

· Just for you (or a one-off)

Forwarding here makes a lesson on your own dashboard only — it does not reach your class. Use the class forward code for that.

Step 01 · Switch to teacher

Questions teachers ask

Do my families have to forward anything?
No. That's the point — you forward once, and it reaches everyone who joined your class. Families just open their dashboard.
What's the difference between the forward code and the invite code?
The class forward code is an email address you forward your newsletter to. The family invite code is a short code you hand to families so they can join your class. Different jobs — see the legend above.
Does forwarding cost my families anything?
The weekly lesson and the suggested guides are free to receive. The guides are pointers only — no AI is generated (and nothing is charged) until a parent chooses to customize one. Science guides sit behind the paid help tier.
Can I still paste a lesson in by hand?
Yes. Every class page has an “Add a lesson manually” option if you'd rather paste than forward.
I teach in English. Will my Spanish-speaking families understand it?
Yes — choose “Mainstream class” when you create it. You write the week in English as usual; each family sees it in Spanish, with the key English academic terms glossed so they recognize them on the homework.
